Where your shadow always has company

NASA's Exoplanet Exploration Program, part of JPL, explained when they revealed this gorgeous artwork that humans probably can't pull this off on Kepler-16b. That's because we suspect it's a gas giant with sub-zero surface temperatures. But if we could stand on a surface on Kepler-16b, we would glory in two shadows and two sunsets since it's "the first confirmed, unambiguous example of a circumbinary planet" (Josh Carter of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics).

Like NASA, we love this art and this idea enough that we wanted it in our homes, because sometimes they get chilly and we wish we were elsewhere. Maybe not as chilly as the surface of Kepler-16b, but still chilly. Created by the "Exoplanet Travel Bureau" (aka NASA's visual strategists), this great faux retro futurism travel poster has been turned into a plush fleece throw. And at 48" x 60" if you snuggle up, it's big enough for two - suns, that is.
