Good advice for all ages: don't be perfect; be brave

We talk about getting more girls into STEM, but it's a cycle. Little girls need to see folks in STEM in order to believe that's a possibility. Girls Who Code gets that. Written by the same woman who started the organization Girls Who Code, this book gives real life stories of females working at places like Pixar and NASA, as well as some history with profiles of pioneering women in computing like Ada Lovelace and Grace Hopper.

It's more heavy on integrating code into your real life than code itself. It takes 55 pages before we get to actual code, but one reviewer on GoodReads pointed out that she uses the clever example of "Hello World" side-by-side in a variety of languages -  Python, JavaScript, Swift, Maya, and Java. It won't teach you to code; the book teaches the fundamentals behind coding and what benefits developing that sort of mindset can score you in your approaches to everyday problems girls face.
