Do the Worm

The NASA worm logo is so divisive: everyone seems to either love it, or hate it. Team Worm members can show off their support with this gradient worm logo raglan tee, available exclusively from ThinkGeek.

The NASA Worm: quite possibly the most controversial government agency logo in U.S. history. Championed by graphic designers as a triumph of superior design, the sci-fi futuristic typeface had its opponents, especially within NASA itself. Many people were nostalgia for the old "meatball" logo, and some people just felt like the worm logo was missing something:
NASA Administrator James Fletcher: "I'm simply not comfortable with those letters, something is missing."
Deputy Administrator George Low: "Well yes, the cross stroke is gone from the letter A."
Fletcher: "Yes, and that bothers me."
Low: "Why?"
Fletcher, after a long pause: "I just don't feel we are getting our money's worth!"
- Recounted by worm logo designer Richard Danne in his memoir, Dust Bowl to Gotham
We love the worm logo (especially since it was discontinued in 1992, now it carries the shiny nostalgic glow of the past), and couldn't disagree more that we always get our money's worth with it. Plus, we get even more NASA with the gradient design on this white raglan tee, with blue collar and three-quarter-length sleeves. This design is exclusively available from ThinkGeek! Rounded hem with a subtle hi-lo fashion silhouette. 100% Cotton. Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. Imported.
