May 7th, 2018: Things You Didn't Need to Know

New Orleans!

Happy 300th birthday, New Orleans!

Three hundred years ago today, La Nouvelle-Orléans was founded. The marvelous mélange heritage of New Orleans has given us not only incredible architecture, culture, and food, but also a fertile location for horror, fantasy, and science fiction in all formats. Its dark streets have been haunted by Anne Rice's vampires and the characters of Poppy Z. Brite, and it gave us characters as diverse as Gabriel Knight, Benjamin Lafayette Sisko, and Gambit. Timmy wants to know: what's your favorite geeky thing that wouldn't exist without New Orleans?
