RT @thinkgeek: Check out the new Reduce, Reuse, Retweet shirt: http://cli.gs/9DH0H3

We generate a lot of trash. Not only in the real world, but also online. That's where Twitter comes in. When you have only 140 characters to express something, you are required to Tweet mindfully. You have to Reduce. Sure, maybe your tweet is about the sandwich you had for lunch, but at least it's not a blog entry or a Flickr stream of the sandwich you had for lunch. Which brings us to Reuse. A lot of clients today allow for multiple streams of output. Want to update your Facebook status at the same time? You can do that. Reuse the same update multiple times. Now your friends only have to follow you one place to get the crucial update on the sandwich situation. But what happens if your tweet is so brilliant that no one ever needs to have another unique thought about sandwiches? You're going to blow your friends away, but they need to share your insight with the world. It can change humanity. That's where Retweet comes in. Because everyone must know! Sandwiches will never be the same!

Okay, yeah. So we made a little fun there. But, honestly, we do love us some Twitter. Retweets are basically our favorite bit because it often exposes us to the cleverness of someone with whom we were previously unfamiliar. And, folks we're following? Keep the sandwich updates coming.
