We spend an inordinate amount of our time here at ThinkGeek running reports to trying to predict what y'all are going to buy. Heads buried in spreadsheets with PivotTables. 30 day sales rates and products frequently bought together and conversion rates and 20% more statistics than you can shake a stick at. And we paused for a moment one day. There's no love for that kind of geek on our site. There are a lot of folks who spend all day hip-deep in metrics, who enjoy it. It can be exhilarating. Instead of relying on the "we think that worked" crowd, gatherers of data get to point and say, "It's now 2.5% more successful." It helps turn gut-feel and art and intuition into science. And, let's face it. Everything is better with science. And dinosaurs.
