Name something that your parents gave you which you can't return. No, not a hand-knitted sweater. (Although we don't recommend returning those either. It's best just to leave them in the back of a drawer to pull out during visits.) The answer we were looking for was your DNA. You are a unique combination (unless you're an identical twin, triplet, member of a clone army determined to take over the world, etc.) of your parents' genetic material. All those little Gs, Cs, As, and Ts stitched together in a pattern that spells out you. In a pattern that sounds something like a cat with a hairball if you try to pronounce it. Which is why it's best just to admire it. Quietly.
