Wee geeks want to do everything that the big geeks do. They want to play Mutants & Masterminds, drink Mountain Dew, and mess with our MacBooks. So it's no surprise that they also want to do dangerous things like play with our pocket knives. And up until now, you've had to say, "No." (Or "Okay, but be careful and don't tell ____.")
The DIY Wooden Knife is a craft project that teaches wee geeks about knife safety. Invented by the 7-year-old son of a knife designer, this kit includes everything you need to create a lockback, folding knife out of soft wood. You don't need any tools or woodworking skills to complete the basic knife. If you do have more advanced skills, you can help your wee geek sand, stain, and paint the knife. Most parents use this knife as a way to teach their children proper knife handling and safety. Once your geekling can display the skills and responsibility, they can graduate to a real Swiss Army Knife.
