  • Watch that demonstrates Euclid's Proposition 1
  • Perfect for the math geek in your life
  • Comes in a tin, suitable for gifting

Geometric proofs are so satisfying. You get to that point where you've tied up all the loose ends, and it feels so good to write Q.E.D. or get to the bit where you get to draw your three dots (∴).

Euclid's "Book 1, Proposition 1" of the Elements states that you can make an equilateral triangle with any straight line, and this watch demonstrates it twice a day. The hour and minute hands are circles with the radius of our "any straight line," and twice a day the second hand, which is an equilateral triangle, falls into the place between the two circles to demonstrate the postulate. It's an elegant solution and an elegant wristwatch.
