Let there be light!

Small children are full of questions. Why is the sky blue? What makes rainbows? Why can't I stick this bean up my nose? And your answers to some of these big questions depend on where your child is in his or her development. For instance, going into the wave-particle duality theory of light is probably not a good start to the answer for "why is the sky blue" for a 3 year old. (Although, you know, maybe a precocious few.)

We all learn better by doing, so once the answers are more complicated than "because," turn to a science kit like this Light Tech Lab and let them learn the answers hands-on. They'll learn all about blending and bending, reflection and refraction with this set, which contains LEDs, lenses, and all the right tools to let them bend light to their tiny wills.
