It has been decided in your favor

We love spooky, old Twilight Zone episodes, but when they come with superstitious and paranoid William Shatner, well, those sorts are extra good. In this one, he's a newlywed, traveling on honeymoon with his new wife when their car breaks down in Ridgeview, Ohio. They go in for lunch, and Shatner's character starts feeding coins into a tabletop fortune telling machine. Patricia Breslin is the perfect skeptic; her character points out to him how generic the answers are. But the Seer's accuracy is pretty uncanny, and Shatner's character begins to believe....

(Also watching this episode makes us realize how many things used to take coins. Coins for the juke box. Coins for the Mystic Seer. Coins for the pay phone. Coins for the cigarette machine. We now live in a world where coins are very rarely necessary. It's not just that stuff is more expensive. There are dollar coins, but the standard payment format has changed.)
