    SUMMARY

    Working independently and reporting to the VP, Marketing, the Director of Customer Marketing plays a critical role in fostering customer loyalty and driving profitability within a multi-channel environment (Ecommerce, Brick & Mortar, and B2B). This role leads and orchestrates multi-channel initiatives to continuously improve the future business position of ThinkGeek, leveraging industry best practices, technology trends, marketing ideas and customer behavior. The Director will lead a team of direct reports towards excellent stewardship and execution of cross functional multi-channel strategy & operational projects supporting areas such as Email Marketing Channel, Customer Loyalty, Site Promotions, Merchandising and Messaging, Customer Lifetime Value, Print Catalog, ThinkGeek Retail Stores, among others. It is expected that the Director of Customer Marketing be a capability builder, surface insightful information through in-depth analysis and foster innovation in a fast-moving and dynamic multi-channel organization. Nearly all decisions may be made without prior supervisor authorization.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead multi-channel marketing strategy development, communication, and execution of initiatives aligned with overall ThinkGeek and GameStop business strategies; collaborate with cross-functional teams including ThinkGeek Merchandising, Product Development, ThinkGeek Retail Stores, Engineering, as well as various related GameStop counterpart organizations
    • Develop and deliver communication about multi-channel strategic plans, performance, tradeoffs and competitive benchmarking to leadership team. Key areas include but are not limited to email marketing, site promotions, merchandising & messaging, loyalty program, lifetime value, print marketing and retail integration
    • Develop and execute both short and long term business plans for driving ThinkGeek site features, functionality & campaigns resulting in continued sales & profit growth
    • Work collaboratively with ThinkGeek and GameStop stakeholders to develop and execute a plan to deliver a seamless, personalized customer experience across retail channels
    • Through the use of business analytics, deliver data-based strategic solutions to business issues and challenges as well as insightful category and competitive analysis which drive strategic and operational multi-channel programs
    • Develop and execute innovative digital marketing campaigns, in collaboration with ThinkGeek Merchandising and Product Development teams, GameStop counterparts, and agency teams
    • Develop email and direct mail calendars that work synergistically with all elements of the marketing mix to deliver a holistic message to the consumer
    • Define overall direct marketing strategy with a focus on email and catalogue distribution and frequency
    • Identify and manage relationships with external vendors to enhance ability to deliver personalized, relevant and timely marketing messages to customers across marketing channels
    • Partner with creative teams to develop marketing assets and collateral which align with business strategy and priorities

    • 10+ years of progressively more responsible retail marketing management experience to include managing budgets, short and long term strategic plan development and execution, ecommerce, and email required
    • 5+ years and proven track record of leading and developing, and managing successful marketing teams and individuals
    • Exceptional collaboration skills, proven ability to form strong cross-functional relationships with varying business partners
    • Strong analytics, accurate forecasting ability, lifetime value analysis, experience with a/b testing, and a drive to achieve results

    Inventory Manager

    SUMMARY

    Working collaboratively and as a trusted business partner with product managers, vendors, marketing, logistics, operations, wholesale, and multi-channel buyers. ThinkGeek’s Inventory Manager is responsible to provide essential forecasting and buying knowledge and expertise in the areas of; category seasonal tops down plans, product performance analysis, product and sku demand forecasting, buy plans and contingency planning. They are also accountable for inventory position,  flow plan, vendor production planning, projections, and purchase order (PO) creation and maintenance. Success will be measured using Demand, Market Contribution, On-Time Delivery & Customer Fulfillment, Inventory Turnover, Liquidation Cost recovery rate and other key metrics. The Associate will establish and manage PO tracking and on-time product delivery, inventory balancing, identify and chasing hot sellers, replenishing inventory needs, renegotiating pricing on reorders, inventory wellness reporting and management, and drive timely product performance reviews. The Associate is also responsible for successfully identifying opportunities and managing end of life-cycle liquidation process, discontinued product disposition, markdown planning & cadence, seasonal clearance, aging inventory, cost recovery, inventory turnover, as well as lead the domestic and international planning and buying processes for ThinkGeek’s multi-channel retail and wholesale organizations, domestic and international.  The Associate will interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Most activities are completed with minimal supervision but may require supervisor’s advance approval.  Some non-routine activities will require leadership’s advance approval.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review and manage inventory levels to ensure fulfillment of in season demand goals through re-orders, order revision and cancellations
    • Review aged merchandise and develop liquidation strategy for over stocks and seasonal products
    • Facilitate product performance reviews, discontinue disposition, markdown planning/ cadence, seasonal clearance, aging inventory, cost recovery and inventory turnover
    • Provide monthly and seasonal analysis of sales performance and return rates at collection, category and vendor level and communicate findings to Supervisor and Merchandising team
    • Execute monthly/quarterly demand forecast process and model including gathering inputs, consolidate information across systems, data entry, and analysis.
    • Forecast demand planning by category, line, item, and sku by offer/timeframe; create demand rollups to reconcile to tops down plan
    • Plan by integrating demand forecasts, plan production with vendors, and manage factory and production lead times
    • Regularly meet with Supervisor and Merchandising team to review projections, set-up issues and all other product requirements
    • Maintain extensive vendor contact in support of the buying process
    • Determine planning requirements, establish lead time/reorder points and determine safety stock levels
    • Monitor movement of goods by reviewing and posting transfer shipments and receipt documents from third party logistics providers
    • Track shipments to ensure they are complete, correct, and on time.
    • Expertly manage inventory control activities including inventory reconciliations and month end reporting
    • Support customer service metrics and company goals for line fill, on-time delivery and perfect order completion
    • Provide routine reporting to stakeholders and decision makers
    • Predict future inventory needs, producing plans for buying based on forecasts and sales data
    • Develop, implement and manage proper inventory control procedures and processes to ensure inventory accuracy
    • Monthly coordination of manual physical audits
    • Implement measures to prevent stock-outs of top-selling SKU’s and discontinue aging inventory
    • Work collaboratively with a variety of departments including Operations/Logistics, Accounting, Sales
    • Extrapolate large volumes of data, summarize it and communicate findings in a concise way
    • Build collaborative relationships with business partners to coordinate operational process and to help resolve issues
    • Document and challenge forecast assumptions based on the analysis of process inputs into forecast models and monthly updates
    • Participate in new products, international, and annual planning forecasting process
    • Measure and report forecast accuracy at customer, channel and product levels
    • Identify forecast accuracy root causes and refine model/process to ensure continuous improvement of the overall process
    • Create and provide monthly Demand Planning Summary Report to Senior Leadership by channel and product level

    BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited program or equivalent work experience required
    • 3-5 years of experience in Inventory Control, Planning and Forecasting budgets, short and long term strategic plan development and execution, ecommerce, and email required
    • Proficient in sales and operations planning
    • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
    • Expert analytical reasoning and math skills
    • Written/verbal communication and presentation skills using spoken English — bilingual (English/Mandarin Chinese) preferred

    Product Manager

    SUMMARY

    Working collaboratively and as a trusted business partner with Planning, Vendors, Marketing, Quality and Compliance, Licensing, Supplier, and Design teams, ThinkGeek’s Product Manager is responsible for and the business owner of their product category(s) & collections by effectively utilizing their knowledge and proficiency of product management & development process.  The Associate will lead the product development and  selling teams by driving the creation of assortments for all channels.     ThinkGeek is looking for a Systems Administrator to be responsible for all systems monitoring applications. The members of our infrastructure support team are an integral part of ThinkGeek's success as they maintain all technology hardware/software in use at ThinkGeek.

    • Configure, manage, and maintain a Linux, Apache, server environment supporting a high volume ecommerce site
    • Monitor performance and resource utilization of physical servers, virtual servers, storage, etc.  Identify resource and performance issues; make and implement recommendations to resolve those issues
    • Perform basic System Administration functions including: hardware installation, OS installation, OS configuration, driver updates, firmware updates, and patch installation

    BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

     

    • BS degree in IT or a related field
    • 3-5 years of solid experience managing Linux in a distributed structure is a must
    • Working knowledge of MySQL and PHP required
    • Hardware clustering, load balancing, and virtualization (VM Ware, virtualbox, xen, etc.) are all plusses
    • AWS experience preferred
    • Experience with Perl is a plus
