Activate Interlock! Dynotherms connected! Infracells up! Megathrusters are go! - Keith

Robots are useful things. They make our cars, manufacture our microprocessors, and occasionally fight evil monsters, combining into a giant humanoid blazing-sword wielding bastion of justice. Not every robot, however, gets to aspire to those dizzying heights. Some robots have to shoot a little lower.

Like this little guy. What he lacks in stature and sheer awesomeness, he makes up for in heart. His secret power is measuring your ingredients for cooking. Sure, that doesn't sound like much, but if you tried to bake bread using three-ish handfulls of flour, and a couple of glugs of milk, you'd end up with something resembling a sticky hocky-puck for dinner.

By breaking apart, he converts his plastic body into measuring cups! 1/4 cup, 1/3rd, 1/2, and 1 full cup in each portion of his body. Now you can use your little robot friend to make delicious robot monkey-bread from scratch! Just follow the instructions below!

Robot Monkeybread
Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 Robot Leg's worth of warm water
  • 1 Robot Torso's worth of sugar
  • 1 Robot Torso's worth of shortening
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 Robot Torso's worth of mashed potatoes
  • 1 Robot Torso's worth of warm milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 8 Robot Torso plus 1 Robot Feet's worth of AP flour
  • 3 Robot Feet's worth of butter, melted

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar, shortening and salt. Add mashed potatoes, milk and eggs. Stir in flour gradually. Knead 8 to 10 minutes. Cover dough and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size. Punch down. Divide dough in half. Grease 2 tube or Bundt pans.

Make small balls of dough and drop into pans in layers. Drizzle melted butter over each layer. Continue with dough balls until all of dough is used. Pans should be half full. Cover and let rise again until double.

Bake at 325°F for about 45 minutes or until done.
