Mankind, despite all its advances, is still a very primitive creature. One only has to witness what happens to Man when presented with a good fire. His eyes widen, and his jaw slackens. Vocal communications reduce to grunts, and it's not uncommon for large slabs of meat being passed around.
For millennia, Man has been attempting to improve his relationship with fire. Coming up with newer and more creative ways to start them and keep them burning. Teepee-style and chimney-style log stacking can only get you so far. You need fuel, heat, and oxygen to start combustion, but you have to maintain that combustion, or the fire will die. Q.E.D.
You can keep a fire going by throwing easily burnable kindling at it until the logs get hot enough to maintain combustion, but that's a losing game. It's far easier to keep applying heat and oxygen. The Looftlighter is definitely the way to go. Imagine a hairdryer that blows air and heat in excess of a thousand degrees fahrenheit. That's essentially the Looftlighter.
