75Mbps per Centimeter
Ok. Lets take a look at the most common wireless networking standards. Ready?
Wireless A
Yes you were the first wireless network standard and you were fast
(54 Mbit/s), but your range (100 ft) was too low and no one used
you.
Wireless B
You improved on the range (150 ft) but somehow completely sucked on
the speed bringing it down to a measly 11 Mbit/s. Unfortunately
despite being really slow you pretty much set the standard for
wireless networking.
Wireless G
Ok. Now we have something. You brought back the speed of Wireless A
(54 Mbit/s) and added the range of Wireless B (150 ft). Duh...
combining the best features of two different network standards
yields a better standard. Luckily this has mostly replaced Wireless
B as the wireless network technology of choice.
So what's next?
Wireless N obviously
With speeds of up to 150Mbit/s and a range of 230 ft, Wireless N
destroys all other wireless network standards. It has amazing range
and amazing speed. Plus it runs on a higher frequency than B/G so
there is much less chance of getting interference from your entire
apartment complex.
Case closed right? Only problem is that if you don't have the latest generation of laptops you probably don't have Wireless N built-in. So what can you do? Well buy the MVIX Nubbin Tiny Wireless N Adapter of course. This thing is so tiny it's barely larger than your USB port. You won't even notice it. What you will notice is blazing fast network speed and awesome wireless range.
Fashionably, sporting a micro-footprint with protrusion of less than 2cm, Mvix Nubbin is capable of delivering data at 150Mbps. With its small 3/4th-inch size, Mvix Nubbin is an attractive accessory for a wide variety of applications and devices constrained by space and size. Compliant with IEEE 802.1n draft 3.0 and IEEE 802.1b/g, Nubbin supports WMM® and WMM-PS® (IEEE 802.1e QoS Standard). Nubbin also offers advanced features like innovative WPS® (Wireless Protected Setup), auto-builds connection, and synchronizes settings. It supports all encryption standards and is compatible with all operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista, Mac OS X and Linux.
The Mvix Nubbin adapts to any standard USB2.0 port and connects wirelessly to a router to stream data at high throughput in a secure environment. Mvix Nubbin is also backward compatible and interoperable with 802.11b/g devices... but you would never ever want to go there unless forced to.
Important Note
Just to be perfectly clear... to use a Wireless N network adapter
like the Nubbin, you'll need a wireless hub that can handle
Wireless N. If you don't have one you'll need to buy one.
Gotcha?
