A different kind of floating thermometer
As you might have observed, some things float. In some cases, this is caused by a lack of gravity, like what you would experience during a zero-g parabolic flight aboard a "vomit comet" aircraft (and hopefully vomit is not the thing that is floating). Or it could be due to electromagnetic repulsive forces, as demonstrated by our amazing Fly Stick science toy. Or it could just be your everyday difference in densities causing one object to float relative to another; like a helium balloon floating away forever when carelessly let go by a small child (okay, that was kind of mean).
Anyway, we're guessing you've probably seen floating thermometers before, but this one is a more intriguing design featuring a single floating disk encased between two glass panes. It indicates both Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature readings and is a terrific desk accessory or functional decoration for your home.
