UPDATE: The winners have been chosen! Watch the videos.
We're calling on all wanna-be wailers to shred an Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt in a totally rawkin' YouTube music video. Your best power chords could win you more than just a slew of screaming fans.
Neversoft is giving the most rock-tastic video the Super Bundle of Band Hero, complete with the Band Hero software, guitar, microphone, and drums--all on the winner's platform of choice: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Wii.
As for fame, the winning video will be featured on the front page of ThinkGeek and on our blog, be publicized in a press release, receive some sweet ThinkGeek t-shirts for your roadies, and a $500 ThinkGeek gift certificate.
The second-place rocker will receive a Guitar Hero 5 bundle from Neversoft on the winner's choice of platform, Eviltrons for every member of the band (to scare off annoying groupies), a Plush Beating Heart (symbolizing your tortured rock & roll soul), a ThinkGeek Heavy Metal t-shirt, and a $250 ThinkGeek gift certificate.
Third place nabs a ThinkGeek Star Wars Cantina Band T-Shirt (your real inspiration) and a $100 ThinkGeek gift certificate.
Thrash, glam, punk, pop, we'll take it all. Just do our fragile psyches a favor and make sure you're fit enough for the leather pants, okay?
Here's how the contest works, and yes, this applies to you punk "anti-establishment" types, too:
1. You create a rocking music video using the ThinkGeek Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt.
Maybe you'll get your friends into the scene. Maybe you'll go solo. Whatever you do, it needs to ROCK!
2. You upload the video to YouTube.
Yeah, we know there's lots of places to upload your video. We chose YouTube. You want to upload it some place else? Sweet! Just make sure you upload it to YouTube too.
3. The contest runs until 11:59PM EST on February 28, 2010. (Please note that the deadline has been extended from 12/31 so you have extra time to alert your street teams, groupies, and Myspace following.) You must get your entry in by the end of the day on 02/28/2010.
