Imported Geometric Building Nirvana

Here at ThinkGeek we can never seem to get our hands on enough construction sets. From Lego, to Capsella... Erector to Lincoln Logs, we love them all. That's why we were pretty stoked to discover this unusual LaQ construction set from Japan. The unique modular snap together system employs square and triangular panels with five different joint types to hold them together. You'll enjoy mastering the intricacies of the construction combinations available. The genius is in the simplicity, and soon you'll be building 3D geometric constructions Lego can't touch.

LaQ is 7 different types of blocks in 10 colors.

The 7 blocks include:2 basic parts and 5 types of joint parts and hamacron-parts.

Basic(2 types)

Hamacron Shaft / Hamacron Wheel

Block types are numbered. The basic pieces are No.1 (square) and No.2 (triangle). You simply connect these pieces with joint parts to create a model.

These shafts and wheels are used when constructing moving objects. Basic LaQ pieces can be connected to the grooves in the side of the wheel. The shafts also fit each other for movement.

Joints(5 types)

Blocks No.3 and 4 are standard joints to be used to create flat areas.

Block No.5 is a 120 degree curved joint for making a spherical or curved surface.

Block No.6 is a right angle joint.

Block No.7 can join basic parts in 3 directions.

When attaching two blocks together, make sure they are tightly connected with a snap.

Disassemble a dice

Disassemble a cube

To disassemble a dice, you will need to use a thumbtack to push into an open area and push the block pieces up.

To disassemble a cube, hold the ball centered in the palm of your hand and gently squeeze.

To disassemble the blocks, hold the two connected pieces with both hands and seperate them as shown in the diagram.
