It is really, really cold on Hoth. Really cold. Sure, you could bundle up in eleventy billion layers, hop on your tauntaun and go out in the freezing wind, but why bother when you can stay warm in Echo Base? There are plenty of other Rebellion soldiers here, so you could always pull out a game. What about a poker tournament?
And why use poker chips when you can just use chunks of ice? Ice is so difficult to come by on Hoth; it's a real commodity. Just remember you need to let the Wookiee win: at least 3rd place.
