And now for something completely different
On this day in 1932, the BBC made its first experimental television broadcast from Broadcasting House. That's something worth celebrating in our book. Without the BBC, we wouldn't have been able to laugh along with Monty Python's Flying Circus, not to mention Ab Fab, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, and The Young Ones. We wouldn't have needed our Downton Abbey and Sherlock fix. We wouldn't be able to safely deliver our religieuse à l'ancienne while screaming around the corners in our reasonably priced car. And there would be no Doctor Who. Nobody wants to imagine a universe without the good doctor, right?
