ThinkGeek's 2013 Halloween Shirt

Welcome to October.

It's a good month to be a geek. Not only do we get Halloween, a holiday where we get to dress in costume and people give us candy, but also we catch the tail end of all the season premieres: Supernatural, American Horror Story, Once Upon a Time, Grimm, The Walking Dead. And some of the new shows look intriguing; we're particularly interested to see how The Tomorrow People and Dracula turn out. Our DVRs will be multitasking.

To help celebrate 2013 as the Year of the Fangirl, ThinkGeek has teamed up with Her Universe to host an epic Star Trek shirt design contest. The idea: you send us your Star Trek shirt design, which can be from any of the television series. We go through them and select the most epic one. That person gets a $500 prize and also gets his or her design printed on one of Her Universe's super-comfy ladies' blanks and made available here on ThinkGeek for all our Star Trek fangirls.

Firefly Kaylee's Parasol Replica - Protection from sunbeams

If your images were on you'd see Firefly Kaylee's Parasol Replica - Protection from sunbeams

It's thrilling and heroic to be a Browncoat, but it's all so...brown. Sure, sometimes you just want to duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month, but occasionally you just need a little spark of Kaylee in your life to brighten things up. Brighten up your home, your costume, or, well, unbrighten a sunny day with our officially-licensed Firefly Kaylee Parasol Costume Accessory. To quote our little ship's mechanic, "Look at the pretties!"

American Zombie Gothic 3D Wall Plaque - Nobody is safe

If your images were on you'd see American Zombie Gothic 3D Wall Plaque - Nobody is safe

The farmer's pitchfork in American Gothic once looked like an innocent tool of the trade. In this zombie reimagining it is now an instrument of death. Zombie farmers?! Shouldn't farmers be protected from zombification by their Threepeaters and Melon-pults? If even the farmers are turned, what hope is there for the rest of us?

FrankensteinLabs Einstein's Brain Desk Lamp - More glial cells!

If your images were on you'd see FrankensteinLabs Einstein's Brain Desk Lamp - More glial cells!

Who wants a lamp from Ikea when this eerie lamp can keep you company late at night with its illusory floating brain? And there are no silly instruction booklets or Allen wrenches required with this lamp. Each one is handmade, not flatpacked from Sweden. Which is good because brains don't pop back so well from flatpacking, or so we hear. This lamp promises to shed light on all sorts of subjects (25 watts, to be exact), but is not actually guaranteed to contain Einstein's brain. Sorry.

Chocolate Zombie Fingers - Devour the enemy

If your images were on you'd see Chocolate Zombie Fingers - Devour the enemy

In the war against the zombies, it's eat or be eaten. Yes, you read that right: we're turning the tables on the zombie apocalypse and biting back. We start with the fingers, because the zombies have a hard time eating if they can't hold on to their food. These aren't real desiccated human digits, of course, but simulated in green chocolate. But the fun doesn't stop there. Inside the chocolate are a few gushing fruit candies. This gives the fingers a random damaged look and oozes a little juice out when bitten. Just like the real thing: only 100 percent less diseased.

Workaholics Bear Coat - Lookin' straight grizzly

If your images were on you'd see Workaholics Bear Coat - Lookin' straight grizzly

We hear the street price on a bear coat is $345 (if Karl gives you a deal on it). Let us save you some cash so you don't have to spend (almost) your entire paycheck on this jacket. Note that ThinkGeek does not recommend you invest your savings in ipecac. Everybody knows the best "get out of work free" pass is a clone. It's a long-term investment, but you don't have to go back to work for the rest of your life.

Puzzle-Pod Bank & Present Vault - Make 'em work for it

If your images were on you'd see Puzzle-Pod Bank & Present Vault - Make 'em work for it

Give someone a present and they'll thank you once. Make 'em riddle out a five letter word to unlock the jail surrounding their present, and they'll remember it for the rest of their lives. That's the brilliance behind the Puzzle-Pod. Easily set the five letters to anything you wish (doesn't have to be a word, really), and no one can get the contents without aligning the proper letters. Like the thing in that movie with that guy based on that book. And hey, if you need to save up first before buying a present, the Puzzle-Pod's got you covered because it can also be used as a bank! We recommend saving up for something really awesome, and then giving it to yourself. You know you deserve it!

Das Horn Drinking Vessel - For your favorite Viking

If your images were on you'd see Das Horn Drinking Vessel - For your favorite Viking

Sometimes a beer mug isn't quite right. A chalice is too delicate. A stein too unwieldy. A goblet too snooty. A punch bowl? Unfathomable. A flagon would work (if we could find one), but a drinking horn? A drinking horn has just the right combination of fun and craziness for most occasions. And should occasion not strike? It comes with a stand for displaying your fun and crazy in the off-hours.

Star Trek Federation Flag Exclusive - From Into Darkness to you

If your images were on you'd see Star Trek Federation Flag Exclusive - From Into Darkness to you

Unfortunately, in Star Trek we probably most frequently see United Federation of Planets flags draped over torpedo caskets. Put yours on your lawn or in your cubicle and help reclaim the UFP flag as a means of social communication and identification. Printed using the original digital files of the UFP logo from the film, this UFP flag measures 3 feet by 5 ft., has a 2" wide sleeve for the pole, and is water-resistant. You can fly it outside, but we recommend you take it down in wind or rain. It's water-resistant, but not meant for lots of exposure to the elements. Or space.

Battlestar Galactica Bomber Jacket - Because space is cold

If your images were on you'd see Battlestar Galactica Bomber Jacket - Because space is cold

Buying a new coat is one of our least favorite annual (well, sometimes biennial) shopping events. You go to the store and poke through a bunch of crazy new "fashionable" jackets, all of which make you look and/or feel like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. What if we told you we could get rid of that chore for you and also make you look like one of your favorite characters? Now fans of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica can warm up with a screen-accurate, prop-replica version of Lee "Apollo" Adama's bomber jacket. Fully-lined and insulated, this bomber jacket adds style to your winter wardrobe. So say we all.
