Hello, Astute Students of Hacker Semiotics,

We're greeting you as Mr. Stephenson might on this auspicious day. Time for the annual celebration of one of our favorite numbers (don't tell pi): 28. Today's the 256th day of the year, and you know what that means! We've taken exactly the number of distinct values that can be represented with an eight-bit byte out of the year, and all the days past this point are just going to throw an error, so everybody should go home. Okay, we made that last bit up. Anybody doing anything special to celebrate International Programmers' Day?

Green Lantern Insignia Ring - My precioussss! Wait, wrong ring...

If your images were on you'd see Green Lantern Insignia Ring - My precioussss! Wait, wrong ring...

This is not -- we repeat: NOT -- a Power Ring. It is merely a ring that has Green Lantern's iconography on it. Pros: it does not require recharging. Cons: you will not be able to affect the fundamental forces of the universe while wearing it. Or if you can, it ain't the ring's fault. No force fields. No energy projectiles. No invisibility. We straight on that? Good.

If your images were on you'd see Ghoulish Handbags & Wallets - Fashion for the apocalypse

The end of the world is nigh, and it is heralded by ravenous ghouls. What's the first thing you think of when the walking dead come to mind? If you said, "Where will I keep my stuff?" You're correct! During the apocalypse, those that survive will be fleet footed and carrying all the stuff they need to stay alive. Happily, we've got lots of zombie and horror-themed bags and wallets to keep your stuff by your side, should the worst happen! The Walking Dead styled handbags and wallets, and handbags that look like bloody cleavers and disembodied eyes! Prepare! Live! Survive!

Zombie Eye Paperweight - Peeper Keeper

If your images were on you'd see Zombie Eye Paperweight - Peeper Keeper

The end-boss giant zombie's power meter is at the bottom. Press X, you spin behind it. Press Y, you grab on to its evil eye. Press 2 repeatedly, you yank out the evil eye and win the game. YAY. Good job. But now what? What are you going to do with that giant zombie eyeball? We plopped ours on our desk to keep the papers from blowing away (zombie eyes are notoriously hard - like glass). It also warns any other ex-living monstrosities that we're awesome enough to rip their eyes out too if they attack our offices. Desk tidy and threat of violence against the undead in one heavy eyeball.

Fall is on the way, and with that comes crisp air, changing leaf colors, warm clothes, and, of course, pumpkins. (What? Did you think we were going to say football?) Bring a pumpkin into your kitchen with the Jack-o-Lantern Cake Mold, which produces a 3D pumpkin for your tabletop. You can stop right there and have a lovely centerpiece or you can take it to the next level and carve it. Best part? No messy, stringy insides to clean up. Just tasty cake.
