The ThinkGeek Newsletter! |
 |
April 1, 2007 |
Greetings!
The gadget maestros here at ThinkGeek have recently returned from a
three week tour across the globe in an attempt to find another round of
worthy products to bring to you, our loyal smart masses. We traveled
across the swamps of Indonesia, penetrated the great Nintendo fortress
at Kyoto, and even braved the Patagonias with only a spork and green
laser to guide us. In the end, we conquered, managing to level up in
the process, and now bring to you the fruits of our labors...

What's New @ ThinkGeek !!
The ThinkGeek WiiHelm -- Look Ma, No Hands!
|
Everyone loves the Wii. The games are fun, the graphics are sweet, and
the Wiimote has created some of the most enjoyable playability since
...well, rock-paper-scissors. But there is one faction who hates the
Wii: chair, sofas, and couches. It's true - with everyone jumping up
and down and moving around, our butt-comforting furniture is lonely.
And, to tell the truth, we're exhausted. Gamers are supposed to be one
with their couch, not prancing around in front of their television!
Lucky for all of us, the WiiHelm is here. Snap your Wiimote into the
WiiHelm and put the WiiHelm on your head. Now, all you have to do is
move your head around. Why jump to the left when a simple flick of your
neck will do? All Wiimote buttons are controlled by the included foot
pedals, so your hands are finally free to hold your drink, shove
another donut hole in your mouth, or scratch yourself. Remember: gaming
should be fun, not exercise. And now thanks to the WiiHelm, it is again.
Check out the video to see it in action!

The ThinkGeek 8-bit Tie - Mario Got One Every Father's Day
|
From the first time we saw Mario, we knew our fascination with 8-Bit
gaming was here to stay. From Mario's sense of duty to his fashion
sense, our mission became clear: to dress like our hero. As technology
advanced, Mario changed his blocky 8-Bit ensemble for smoother, higher
resolution duds. And so we too had to change with the times. But a part
of our heart always missed the Zen-like simplicity of 8-Bit design.
Then we got an e-mail from Mario (who knew he was a ThinkGeek fan?!?)
with some pictures from the good old days. In one picture, when he was
accepting a video game award, he sported a fancy 8-Bit tie. We knew
what we had to do. We had to make the 8-Bit Tie for our friends and
customers. And so we did. Enjoy.

SnuzNLuz - Wifi Donation Alarm Clock, Enemy Aware
|
For years the masses have told you that if you snooze you lose. You
never believed them. You held your head high and slept in whenever you
wanted to, always without fear of loss. Well, dear friends, the times
have changed. The ingenious sages at ThinkGeek Labs(TM) have finally
created the Ultimate weapon against snoozing - the SnuzNLuz(TM). People
who enjoy sleeping in are cowering in fear all across the globe - it's
finally true, when you snooze, you lose! The principle is simple. The
SnuzNLuz securely connects via WiFi to your online bank account, and
donates YOUR real money to an organization you HATE when you decide to
snooze! Are you a music pirate? Then set your SnuzNLuz to donate to the
RIAA every time you snooze and we guarantee you'll never sleep in again!
Oh the time profit...

Piranhaz - R/C Battle Fish - Fishes Are Vicious
|
The seas of the world hold a secret. When no one is looking, fish all
over the world arm themselves with weapons. They meet in hidden areas
masked in mystery and encrypted passwords. Don't ask us how we found
this location; let's just say Slappy the Guppy (our office fish) will
never be the same. And what do the fish do in this den of shadows? They
fight...with lasers! Why? We're not sure. Maybe they are intending an
uprising, but whatever. It gave us an idea for these great R/C Battle
Fish. We call them Piranhaz and they have all the laser battle action
of the real fish plotting our downfall in the seas (just without the
dire "human slave" consequences). And you can use them in any fish tank
- even if it already has fish in it. The cloudier (i.e. poopier) the
water, the more you can see the laser beams. Three hits and your
opponent goes belly up...just like real laser blasted fish. Oh yeah!

SurgeStix - Inhalable Caffeine Stix - Puff & Wake Up
|
We at ThinkGeek have made it our mission to get caffeine into your
system in as many ways as are available: eating, drinking, absorption.
There is one final way to get caffeine into your body: breathing! You
can see why we were so excited when we saw SurgeStix at a trade show in
Canada. Though they look like cigarettes, you don't light these Stix.
You crack them like glow sticks (to get the caffeine solution flowing)
and then take deep drags. Each breath will suck in about 20mg of
caffeine, each Stix has about 15 "hits," so you are looking at 180mg of
caffeine going straight into your lungs and surging into your bloodstream.
Now, the warning says not to exceed 4 Stix in a 24 hour period, but we
know you will. Heck, we did too! In fact, the entire ThinkGeek office
hasn't slept a wink in 3 days! Get your SurgeStix now, and you too can
be sucking in no time.
