The ThinkGeek Newsletter!

June 17, 2003

Hello folks!

We wanted to send this edition of the ThinkGeek newsletter out last Friday. But that was Friday the 13th. And while it is true that we launched ThinkGeek to the public on Friday the 13th (back in '99), we didn't want to tempt fate twice...(we've already done that by mixing bawls and coffee more than once). So, a few days later, with fate left untempted...

PCMods!

New PC Mods Section!!

Give Your PC A Breath Of Fresh (& Glowing) Air

Enjoy spending lots of time alone with your PC? Have a desire to make your PC look as good from the outside as the specs on the inside? Of course you do. ThinkGeek has been carrying various modifications for PCs for years now, but we figured it's about time we beefed up our offerings and brought you a full-fledged 'PC Mods' section.

From the latest in Lian-Li cases (like a case with a built in aquarium!) to an all acrylic case, we think you'll be able to find that special addition for your PC. We've got cables wrapped with glow wire, cold cathode cooling fans, stuff to make your PC quieter, LED fan grills and much more!

What's New @ ThinkGeek !!

The Keep-It-Simple-Stupid ThinkGeek T-shirt Series

Recently we assembled all the greatest minds in our office (including the dogs), and brainstormed to find the ultimate expression that might sum up as simply as possible what folks shopping at ThinkGeek are all about. We failed... miserably. So, we decided to order pizza instead and chase each other with AirZookas. The dogs (sans pizza), continued the discussion amongst themselves and came up with the following simple truths:

Hi-Tech Plasma Mug w/Electronic Coaster

Plasma Mug

Plasma, as nature's 4th state of matter, is perhaps the most strange. We imagine that plasma will likely be used sometime in the future for things like advanced weapons, or even to help power space craft, and most importantly for hoverboards! For now though, you can enjoy all the science of plasma in a mug right on your desktop! Just fill the specially designed glass mug with your favorite caffeine and set it down on it's coaster and watch the plasma arc and spire outwards, even responding to your touch...

AirZooka - Blast Your Co-Workers With A Tight Ball Of Air !!

Just think of all the fun stuff you can do with air. You can fly in it! You can put it in a bag and pop it, you can use it to toss a Frisbee to a dog, you can even use it to breathe! But with the new AirZooka you can now utilize air as a weapon! And so long as you aren't on the moon, you'll never run out of ammo! The AirZooka launches a powerful ball of air accurately and up to twenty feet! So stun your co-workers and madly ruffle their hair right here:

Biometric Mouse - Your fingerprint is your password!

Biometric Mouse

This is an emerging technology that is increasingly being used for information and computer security. We also think it just happens to be pretty darn cool. The Biometric Mouse is an optical corded mouse with USB connection and a built-in fingerprint authentication system. It conveniently enables secure computer logon, file & folder access and screensaver via biometric authentication. It can support multiple users and has a fast scan fingerprint imaging sensor.

Radio YourWay - Record LIVE Radio!!

This cute little handheld allows you to record any AM/FM radio broadcast at the touch of a button, leaving you no excuse for not catching all four hours of the Don and Mike show. Thanks to an MMC memory card slot, you can easily upgrade the player's 32MB of RAM, making it a great option as a portable MP3 player and voice recorder as well.

More T-shirts To Help You Achieve Total Population Brainwashing

A life without t-shirts would be like a life half naked. We simply can't let that happen so we've got another round of stuff to keep you safely and stylishly clothed. Choose from new designs like our 'Wardriver' shirt. Perfect for those of you who use Pringles for more than just eating. For Math buffs you might like our '2+2=5' shirt (for very large values of 2). And for you EE types with a trekker bent you might enjoy our new 'resistance is futile' shirt. If less than an ohm of course. By popular demand our new shirts are now available in Small! We'll be making most of our shirts in Small over the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for the new size!

Mathmos Space Liquid Projector

Mathmos Projector

Instantly turn your office into the hippest digs on the entire floor with this groovy oil wheel projector from Mathmos. The Mathmos Space Projector casts a moving image onto a wall or ceiling with a choice of two different colors (Blue/Green or Red/Violet). The brightness and size of the image are controlled by the amount of light in the room and the distance from the display surface (subdued lighting is best). Great for lan parties, late night caffeine-powered coding marathons, MP3 jam sessions, and general relaxation.
