An Epic Star Trek Shirt Design Contest
Hosted by ThinkGeek and Her Universe
To help celebrate 2013 as the Year of the Fangirl, ThinkGeek has teamed up with Her Universe to host an epic Star Trek shirt design contest, which we're calling "Make It Sew." The idea: you send us your Star Trek shirt design, which can be from any of the television series. We go through them and select the most epic one. That person gets a $500 prize and also gets his or her design printed on one of Her Universe's super-comfy ladies' blanks and made available here on ThinkGeek for all our Star Trek fangirls.
Prize: $500 (plus, you get to brag that you got your awesome design printed)
Submission Deadline: 11:59pm ET 10/14/13
Winner Announced: 10/18/13
The quick and dirty rules
- Submissions must be received by 11:59pm ET 10/14/13.
- You may submit up to 3 entries per person.
- If it ain't your art, we don't want it. Only original works, please.
- All entries must be in one of the following file formats: GIF, JPG, PDF, PNG.
- Submitting a design signifies that you agree to the Terms & Conditions.
Star Trek titles/characters which may be submitted for this contest: Star Trek (original television series cast); Star Trek: The Next Generation; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Star Trek: Voyager; Star Trek: Enterprise; and any of the motion pictures featuring the original TOS cast or TNG cast. You may NOT use any likenesses of any actors who appear in the 2009 or 2013 Star Trek motion pictures.
What do I do if I have this great idea that isn't about Star Trek?
Funny you should ask. We have just the thing: the ThinkGeek Bounty Program. Just last month, we made three ideas submitted through the Bounty Program into shirts.
Why is the design going on a ladies' blank?
Her Universe provides merchandise and a community where female sci-fi fans feel welcome, and we wholeheartedly support that. And, on a not-having-the-photon-torpedoes-fired-at-us-by-lawyers level, that's what we have the license for.
