Bilibo. Sure, it’s a funny word but it’s so much more than that. Bilibo is an award winning imagination stimulation toy developed by Swiss Designer Alex Hochstrasser. It was created simply by watching children play using their imaginations. Instead of imposing a specific play pattern, Bilibo is open for a wide range of interpretations and encourages children to invent their own games. Have your kids ever played Giant-Blue-Headed-Creature-Chase or Fancy-Spaghetti-Butt-Bowl-Dance? Bilibo will teach them. Bilibo can also be used indoors and outdoors, in the sand-pit, at the water or even in the snow. All that’s required is an ounce of curiosity, something the little folks have in spades.

ThinkGeek recently hosted a whole heap of geeklings at our Intergalactic Headquarters to play with a bunch of new toys. The one that invariably most age groups gravitated towards was Bilibo. Again and again. Meanwhile, the parents were like "What? It’s just a plastic bowl with holes in it. It doesn’t even use batteries!" Kids just grok it. Bilibo has an egg-like shape that provides great stability and can even carry the weight of an adult so they are virtually indestructible. Kids can sit inside and start spinning or stand on top of it to balance. Get two and they’ll form a clamshell. They can put Bilibo on their back and act like a turtle or play peek-a-boo by putting it on their heads. They can use it in the snow as a sled or take it to the pool for water games. The only thing Bilibo can’t do right now it seems is check Gmail. But we are sure it’s just a matter of time before the kids figure that one out.
