Why is ThinkGeek recalling BuckyBalls and BuckyCubes?
The Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC") recently began an enforcement action against BuckyBalls and BuckyCubes. The CPSC found that ingestion of this product can result in serious internal injuries that can lead to death if left untreated. Unfortunately, at this time, the number of incidents continues to rise. Given the serious nature of the safety concerns that have been raised, we ceased sales and initiated a voluntary recall. What if I don't want to return my BuckyBalls or BuckyCubes?
Given the gravity of the safety issues that have arisen with the product, both ThinkGeek and the CPSC recommend that you stop using the product immediately and return it to ThinkGeek for a credit.
How do I take part in the recall?
For the fastest service on this issue, we recommend that you use the return merchandise authorization form on our website. Instructions can be found here: http://www.thinkgeek.com/help/returns.shtml
I don't have a receipt for my BuckyBalls or BuckyCubes purchase, what do I do?
All that is needed to be issued a return is either the email address that you used to place the order or the order number from that order. If you have questions regarding that, our Customer Service Monkeys will be happy to help.
What do I get if I take part in the recall?
ThinkGeek will be issuing credit for your purchase in the form of a gift certificate once that purchase has been returned and received by ThinkGeek. While this isn't the same as purchasing a gift certificate, all of the standard rules apply: It expires five years after the date of issue, is non-refundable and will not accrue Geek Points.
I received BuckyBalls or BuckyCubes as a gift. Am I eligible for the recall?
Customers who were given BuckyBalls or BuckyCubes as a gift and who would like to take part in the voluntary recall should have the email address of the person who gifted them the item.
