Matt Mogk, founder of the Zombie Research Society, wrote a delightful children's book called That's Not Your Mommy Anymore. It teaches children how to recognize a zombie outbreak and take steps to protect themselves. Think of it like Night of the Living Dead meets Doctor Seuss.
While we can all agree that the zombie apocalypse is coming, you'll have to decide for yourself whether this book is right for your geekling or if it should just be read and chortled at by the adults of the house. There is some gore and there is an undead Mom. Some of our kiddos were all "Ew, gross, no!" while others laughed their little butts off and demanded a repeat reading with more zombie sound effects. YMMV.
