On this day over 2000 years ago, Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon and uttered those fateful words, bringing his army into Italy, effectively declaring war on the Roman Senate. Well, technically, he probably said "ἀνερρίφθω κύβος" but we're not particular. We just like the fact that there were metaphorical dice involved. Given what happened subsequently (he became dictator and the Roman Empire was born), he apparently rolled a natural 20.
