August: a month and an adjective nobody ever uses

shaun_shorn.jpg

August signals back to school time for many of us, but that doesn't mean we don't have some goofing off to look forward to, as well. Here are some of the geek events we're looking forward to, in particular:

  • July 30 - August 2 - Gen Con in Indianapolis.
  • August 4th - Pick your fandom: Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' or Three Moments of an Explosion: Stories by China Miéville.
  • August 11th - The official release of The End of All Things as one big chunk of novel, the next book in John Scalzi's Old Man's War universe. Probably like a lot of you, we jumped the gun and read it last month in serial release.
  • August 12th - Allow us to squeak for a moment in delight:The Art of Mouse Guard 2005 - 2015 by David Petersen comes out today. Also don't forget to peek at the peak of the Perseids tonight.
  • August 15th - Mutant Jello memorial day. sniff
  • August 19th - Steampunk'd series premiere. Looks intriguing.
  • August 23rd - Fear the Walking Dead series premiere. Oh good. Another zombie TV show to be addicted to.
  • August 25th - From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series & Vixen series premieres + Madden NFL 16 for our fans who fall into the video game / football Venn diagram intersection
  • August 29th - Supermoon! It gets a cape and everything. (Not really.)
  • August 30th - Disney Infinity 3.0
And what are YOU looking forward to in August that we've missed? Or that we mentioned? We wanna know!
