Win 100 bucks for your geek dad before it's too late

Have a dad in your life that deserves some honoring but you didn't hit the jackpot with our GeekDad Giveaway last week? Or maybe you just forgot Father's Day is right around the corner and now you're feeling like a shameful chestbursting spawn?

We want to help you commemorate your patriarch and save us all from from a Father's Day disaster on June 20th.

Tell us all about the geek dad in your life in 500 characters (~100 words) or less between now and midnight EDT on Thursday, June 17. On Friday, June 18 we'll post our favorite 20 entries and let the geek horde vote on their favorites. That night, we'll announce 5 geek dad winners, who will each receive a $100 ThinkGeek gift certificate--and maybe some runners up, too.

Just in time for Father's Day, saving you from the horrifying specter of man-baby hybridization as seen above. The danger is real!

My dad has raised my brothers well in the areas of computers, but alas, I still consider myself but a geekling... Some day, though, I'll earn enough geek experience points to level up to areas of true geekiness! Dating my computer isn't enough... Anyway, thanks Dad, for all your geekiness!

Put MacGyver in Gerald McRainey's body and you have my dad. He can fix anything, hand-tighten bolts that mortal men would need tools for, and is environmentally friendly too. He introduced me to Pong when it was the only video game, and is a gadget fiend like me. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, because I don’t go anywhere without my multi-tool and my love of tinkering was a gift from him. Given the chance, he would have fixed the BP oil spill in under 48 hours. He’s awesome!

I can't wait for my son to get old enough to be able to pass on my geekiness to him. He is 19 months old and my computer is already his favorite toy, but I think that is mainly because of the cool noises it makes when he bashes on the keyboard. Although, he does manage to change settings and open things up that I have never seen before on my computer, let alone seen it accessed just from keyboard commands. Maybe next father's day he will have mastered his keyboard abuse enough to throw in a few words for daddy :)
