My first real job was working at Lowen’s Toy Store in Bethesda, MD. I still think it was the best toy store I have ever been to. When I started at ThinkGeek, my mom said that I had truly come full circle, since I’m now working for another place that sells toys (and a lot of other neat stuff)… yeah, she’s right and I’m loving it, almost as much as I did Lowen’s!
I’m probably one of the least geeky here in the office, though I think I surprise them sometimes. I guess you could say I’m a borderline geek; I ended up doing computer science and marketing at Syracuse University. People are always astonished to hear the first computer language I learned was LISP. I love parentheses! In the end, I decided programming wasn’t for me, so I went into marketing and other stuff instead. I now like to have my hands in everything that is ThinkGeek.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my wonderful British husband, Andy, and my smart and adorable girls, Shannon and Willow, and tabby cat, Clarence. Here is Shannon’s acting debut on a ThinkGeek video from awhile ago.
